In my family, we eat traditional African foods like fufu and egusi soup. We usually eat together and share food with each other like if you wanted to get food and eat somewhere like the couch u couldn’t do that you had to eat with the family phones away socializing. This custom reflects my culture because food brings family together and helps us stay connected to our roots It also shows that my family values respect and spending time together.

One African dish that represents my culture is jollof rice. It is a popular West African dish made with rice tomatoes peppers and spices. It is significant because it brings families together during holidays parties and special events. Jollof rice is more than just food because it represents our traditions and brings people together.

I felt angry and disrespected while writing the story because someone called me the n word. The part that affected me the most was when they actually said it because I wasnt expecting it it made me think about how words can really affect someone even if the person saying them thinks its just a joke.
